Low Cost Animal Health Certificates.
An animal health certificate is a legal document required for travel with your pet dog/cat/ferret, into EU (and Switzerland/Norway), it is required to keep the UK free from rabies and a type of tapeworm (Echinococcus) which can be transferred from dogs to people.
They must be issued by an official veterinarian (OV), no more than 10 days before your departure date. They are valid for one trip to the EU (for up to 4 months travel). Up to 5 pets may travel on the same certificate.
In order to get an AHC, your pet needs to be microchipped and vaccinated for rabies at least 21 days before your appointment with the vet issuing the AHC, you will need proof of rabies vaccination status.
If you are travelling with another species animal other than dog/cat/ferret or if you travelling outside the EU, then a different type of certificate is needed (EHC), please contact us for further information and prices, email contact@oakbankvet.co.uk
Applying for a low cost animal health certificate.
1, Ensure your pet is microchipped and vaccinated for rabies. The rabies vaccination must have been given at least 21 days prior to your appointment if it is your pets first rabies vaccination or they fallen behind with their rabies booster.
2, Click on the contact us button or email contact@oakbankvet.co.uk with details of when and where you are travelling, to check we have availability.
3, We will send you a pre appointment form to fill out, with details of you, your pet(s) and travel/dates. We ask you to return it to us along with any other documents we require such as proof of rabies vaccination.
4, Once you return this to us, we will use this information to prepare the AHC. We will contact you to arrange an appointment time and you will then receive a confirmation of appointment and an invoice.
At your appointment, we will need to see your pet(s) to scan their microchip, observe you sign the owner’s declaration and see the original proof of rabies vaccination. We will then issue your AHC and go through it with you. We will also answer questions you may have.

Animal health Certificate - £99 for the first pet, additional pets £25 (on the same AHC).
Repeat customers - AHC from £69, if no details have changed.(please keep your previous AHC from us).
Urgent Animal Health Certificate (less than 7 days notice) - £149, (£45 additional pets).
