This is one of the questions I am asked the most. It weighs heavily on the minds of pet parents as their pets get older.

The answer depends on individual circumstances but there are things to consider:

 Quality of Life

Are they struggling with daily life?

Are they in pain? Is their medication no longer working?

Are they having more bad days than good days.

If their quality of life is deteriorating, it might be time.

Enjoyment

Does your pet still enjoy the activities they loved. If they have lost interest in the things that used to bring them joy, it may be time.

Veterinary Guidance

Your vet can provide valuable insight into your pets condition, helping you make an informed decision. Speak to your vet or myself (Charlotte) about your concerns.

Look at old photos and videos of your pet and compare them to now. You may not notice their decline, seeing them daily but looking at old photos can help.

Speak to family, friends, your pets groomer,. Sometimes they will notice the decline as they don't see your pet too often.

Think about what is best for your pet. Sometimes our desire to keep pets close can prolong their suffering. Euthanasia can be an act of kindness to end suffering.

Saying goodbye is never easy but it can be an act of love and compassion, allowing your pet to pass with dignity and love.

If you are unsure, please speak to myself for judgement free guidance. You don't have to make the hardest decision alone, I'm here to support you and your pets .
